A Beautiful Candy Buffet

And Sarah’s Prom

This is the Candy Buffet we did for Saint Maria Goretti’s Prom at Fountainhead Country Club in Hagerstown. Yes, That’s the same girl that has been the face of Just Desserts since we opened. She is also the future owner and an excellent baker. I’ll be blogging about this event with plenty of pictures and close-ups of the buffet. But for now, I just had to share these pictures.

This Candy Buffet blog post will have pricing for this buffet, as well as others that are smaller in size. We have been so lucky to fill our calendar with Candy, Cookie, Dessert, and Wedding Buffets. These events are so much fun to do and guests just love them.

Our Cupcakes are now at the Jamaican Cafe!

We are so excited to announce that Jamaican Cafe in Martinsburg will be selling our cupcakes. Come in for one, two, or more. You can get them to go, but be sure to try their Five Fruit Smoothie, or have one after one of their incredible authentic meals of the most aromatic fare indiginous to the exotic island of Jamaica. They say you eat with your eyes first, but when you walk in the door, you get just a hint of the of those distinctive spices. I think the brain starts processing those smell into an immediate need for for Jerk Chicken and Plantains before you can get to the counter.

Cupcakes-To-Go are available Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays during these Hours:

Friday 11am to 9pm

Saturday 5pm to 10pm

Sunday 12pm to8pm

Jamaican Cafe is also open Monday through Thursday 11am to 8pm, just no cupcakes those days (yet).

Candy and Dessert Buffets

You have seen them in magazines and the internet. The newest trend for special occasions. A great idea but maybe a little difficult to put together or a just too expensive to buy all of the materials for just one occasion. We have solved that. We must have a hundred pieces of serving pieces for Candy and Dessert Buffets, all available to rent for a very reasonable price. In fact, we even have affordable rental packages.

For example, we rent the tall apothecary jars for $5.00 each, less with a package. Those beautiful placecards and tags you see adorning the table with the names of the desserts and candies are around $50.00. We have print artists available to coordinate the tags with your decor. Most of our desserts can be made into bite-sized portions, just perfect for a buffet. Add some decadent chocolates, some nuts, and some mints, and your guests will be so pleased. For a wedding or just because you want one, a cake centerpiece is another option.

We will be happy to help you with a budget for the amount of guests you will have. We can ballpark the amount and then plan the details if it is something you may want.

Spring Holidays, Weddings, and Special Dates

Now it is time to concentrate on Weddings, Showers, Easter, and soon Mother’s Day. Plus all of those spcial days like birthdays and anniversaries.

If you don’t see exactly what you are looking for on our menu, please email or call us. In fact, we have been so busy with special requests that we have tons of items just waiting to be added. When a customer requests something not on the menu, we may either have a recipe already or, with a little extra time, we develop a recipe. Before we deliver the new product, we take pictures and try to remember to weigh the of dessert (ours are so hearty, the weight helps to give you an idea of the size and number of servings you can expect).

Right now we have over thirty new products that we haven’t had the time to add. Here are a few: Coconut Cream Pie, M & M’s Chocolate Cake, a larger variety of Chocolate Covered Fruit variety box, and we finally developed a new flavor… don’t laugh… Birthday Cake flavor.

So please don’t hesitate to ask for anything you don’t find on the menu. Our most requested seem to be the nostalgic… a recipe a grandmother used to make, a childhood memory, a wedding cake flavor from thirty years ago desired for an anniversary cake, a dessert from a vacation in a foreign land. While we may not duplicate it exactly, we will get close enough to provide you with that memory and it will taste incredible.

We are looking forward to a great Spring season. Our menu is filled with great Fall flavors because we have only been open a year. Now you will see new additions of fresh flavors, probably a little lighter in refreshment. Look for in-season fruit ingredients, shortcakes, whipped cream toppings, more citrus in cheesecakes, cookies, and cakes.
